How I Find Books to Review

I have been asked by a couple of people who I review books for and the answer is simple. It is not for any particular site. I contact authors and offer to review their book. I send them a link to my Associated Content page. This is where I will post the review for them.

I have received four books so far to review. One of them came to me and the other three I asked if they would be interested. They were authors who are not well known, but write amazing books. I found them randomly by seeing a person mention the book on facebook. I emailed them and offered to review the book. I did not ask for a free book, but they all offered to send me one.

I have contacted a few well known authors with no response. I am sure they have their own people who do this for them or know more people. So this is how I have received books to review. Try it yourself.

  1. That is a great way to do reviews. There are a host of publishing companies that will allow reviewers to sign up. I have Random House, Bethany House, Blogging for Books, Book Sneeze and so on. It is one of the things in life I enjoy a great deal, reading.

  2. I received one book when the author posted she wanted reviews. I am trying to get the courage to ask to review more books by my favorite crafts authors.

  3. I've just been writing reviews on books I have borrow from the library. But this is a great idea!

  4. You can try contacting publishers and literary agents as well. Also, if you are on twitter, follow the publishers. They often have giveaways/drawings for retweeting posts.

Another site to check out - if you like to read e-books - is netgalley.com. This site has prepub galleys that you can request a copy to read.
